Greater than half of the UK’s busiest airports have elevated kissing and flight charges (charges for unloading passengers close to the terminal entrance), in line with a brand new RAC survey.

Airports, together with Gatwick, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, Southampton and Stansted, charged the very best charge of £7 (Euro 8.20) with a cease time of only a few minutes. As compared, 9 of the ten main EU airports, together with Frankfurt and the Charles de Gaulle in Paris, are being investigated. Solely Dutch Schiphol prices a small charge of two.50 euros (£2.17).

Rod Dennis, senior coverage officer at RAC, mentioned:

“7 kilos seems a bit steep at stops that would find yourself in below 10 minutes. These prices proceed to extend 12 months by 12 months.”

In the meantime, Luton and Manchester in London had been discovered to be the most costly in a minute, charging £5 (5.85 euros) for 5 minutes.
UK airports defended the rise, and costs helped handle congestion and emissions and assist airport providers.

London Metropolis Airport was the one UK airport within the report that will not cost “kiss and flight charges,” however Cardiff was the primary to introduce charges. Blue badge holders are exempt from airports equivalent to Gatwick, Southampton and Belfast.
